Hi, I'm Tracey

If you have found yourself here you've already taken a positive step forward to find some support and I'm here and ready to help you on that journey.

I am a Certified Level 5 qualified Counsellor and Psychotherapist and an Accredited Registrant Member of the National Counselling and Psychotherapy Society (NCPS).

My journey into therapy grew out of my own experiences with grief, trauma and complex relationships. Finding a therapist who truly saw me and listened with presence and compassion, rather than trying to 'fix' me, was life changing. It transformed how I related to myself and others and it continues to guide the way I practice as a therapist today.

I am passionate in supporting young people, teens and adults overcome their issues, however big or small. My approach centres on kindness and compassion, with a strongly held belief that everyone deserves a safe, non-judgemental space to be seen, heard and understood.

Drawing on extensive experience working with both adults and adolescents, I use a gentle and collaborative approach to help you navigate life's challenges at a pace that feels right for you. Together we will explore thoughts and feelings, finding a path forward that works best for you.

I work with young people aged between 11 and 18 years old, both in my private practice and within the schools sector and I firmly believe that offering therapy to young people and teens can be transformative in helping them to understand themselves and the world around them, giving them the tools and coping strategies to navigate life with greater confidence and self-belief.

Why go to therapy?

Sometimes as adults we delay seeking help because we feel we should be able to cope alone or don’t see our emotional well-being as a priority. It's easy to 'appear fine' on the surface when underneath you are struggling to cope or make sense of things. Your happiness and well-being shouldn't take a back-seat to all the other things we focus on in life and if you are ready to take that first step to start your journey towards feeling better, then I am here and ready to help.

I believe that emotional and physical well-being are closely intertwined and that even subtle shifts in our mindset can lead to meaningful improvements throughout our lives. Uncovering the roots of certain behaviours and patterns can be transformative, allowing you to gain deeper self-awareness, change unhealthy habits and strengthen your connection with yourself and others.

As parents we sometimes assume that therapy is more for adults or reserved for teens and young people experiencing extreme trauma. But the truth is life is full of challenges for our young people nowadays, from the pressures of school, exams, navigating the 'digital' world and social media, bullying, friendship dynamics, relationships, sexuality, identity or just finding their place in the world. Offering them time and space that is just for them, to explore what they are going through safely and without judgement may be one of the best decisions you can make as a parent.

Whether you are an adult seeking support, a parent looking to find support for your child, or you yourself are a young person exploring what support is out there that might help you, my door is open. I'm here to gently guide you toward greater clarity, confidence and a deeper understanding of yourself.

My Therapy Space

My therapy practice is based in Chertsey, Surrey and I see my clients for in-person therapy in my cosy and peaceful garden room. It is a lovely space to relax and explore how you are feeling, nestled amongst the trees and is a calm and tranquil space.

Alternatively, I work with clients online via Zoom which can be ideal for those who are time poor, lack the ability to attend a face to face session, or feel more comfortable to stay in the comfort of their own space and surroundings.

I also have specialist training in 'Walk and Talk Therapy'. This is available for daytime sessions, conditions permitting. These usually take place in the open riverside spaces a short walk from my practice. This kind of therapy can be really beneficial if you find sitting in a room a bit daunting. Walking and talking side by side helps to alleviate some of the pressure and can be a nice way to ease yourself into therapy and enjoy nature and fresh air at the same time, both of which are great for supporting our mental health.

Ethical Practice

I practice in accordance with the National Counselling and Psychotherapy Society (NCPS) Code of Ethics, upholding professional standards of integrity, respect and care in every therapeutic relationship. My work is grounded in ethical responsibility, ensuring a safe, confidential and inclusive space for all my clients.

I engage regularly in Continuing Professional Development (CPD) to enhance my knowledge, refine my skills and deepen my understanding, ensuring I remain up to date with sustainable, evidence-informed practice, this allows the support I offer to remain responsive, relevant and rooted in best practice.

I uphold the values of equality, diversity and inclusion in every aspect of my work, ensuring that whoever you are, whatever your background or beliefs, you feel respected, safe and truly seen.
